German sheep pulling a cart - w/ brown ribbon
SOLD!
German sheep pulling a cart carrying a large paper mache egg trimmed with a vintage silk ribbon in brown. Small greenery pieces placed under the bow. Each piece is slightly different . Featured in the 2004 Holiday issue of Early American Life magazine. The German sheep was molded in composition, painted, and then covered in vintage cotton. The legs are wood. He has a paper ribbon around his tummy and also around his neck with a bell attached. The cart has metal wheels painted in a rusty color and then antiqued. The egg is finished in a golden color and lightly distressed. Pussywillow and greenery make a "nest" at the bottom of the egg. The entire piece measures approximately 12" long by 7" tall at the highest point.
Although this design is not old it blends nicely with other antique Easter items. In fact, a lot of my customers say they leave this piece out all year long.
